We originally booked Mandie for engagement photos before we knew a wedding date and fell in LOVE with her skills in photography!! So much so, I immediately booked her as soon as we knew our wedding date and venue. Yes—there will more than likely be some kind of permit process depending on where you choose to elope in Wyoming. Places like Grand Teton National Park and other public lands each have their own rules, timelines, and application windows, and some locations can book up faster than you’d expect.
It’s always a good idea to have a couple of backup options in mind but you don’t have to figure that out on your own. I’ll walk you through what’s required and when to apply
Late May through early October is prime time. Trails and ceremony spots are generally open, the weather’s more reliable, and the light? Chef’s kiss. Summer is warm and fully accessible, but it’s busy.
Fall is my personal favorite—cooler temps, crisp mornings, fewer crowds, and the mountains show off those golden hues.
Spring and winter can be magical but also unpredictable, with snow lingering and some spots inaccessible.
Another tip: Weekdays during those months tend to be quieter if you want more privacy and less crowding at popular spots
Honestly… we roll with it. Weather is one of those things you can’t control, but it also tends to create some of the most memorable, emotional, and you moments of the day. Fog rolling in, wind in your hair, a little rain—it can make everything feel even more intentional and alive.
That said, I’m not just showing up and hoping for the best. I’m always keeping an eye on forecasts leading up to your day and we’ll have a flexible plan in place. That might mean adjusting timing, shifting locations, or building in backup options if needed.
Yes! Pets aren’t allowed on trails or ceremony spots inside Grand Teton National Park, but they’re welcome in parking areas and overlooks. If you want your pup in the ceremony or photos, nearby spots like The Wedding Tree in Bridger‑Teton National Forest are dog-friendly with epic views—so no one misses out on the adventure!
