Some wedding days feel like the universe is celebrating right alongside you…
and Madison + Derek’s Hinckston Run Farm wedding was exactly that kind of day.
Their story began the way so many modern love stories do — online. But what started with messages and FaceTime calls soon grew into something much deeper. Through years of long-distance, these two built a relationship rooted in patience, laughter, and shared adventures outdoors. From hunting and fishing trips to exploring national parks together, nature has always been a huge part of their story.
And when it came time to propose? Derek created a moment they’ll never forget. During Christmas time, he took Madison to Longwood Gardens near Chester County, a place sparkling with lights and holiday magic, and got down on one knee under the glowing light tunnel.
Fast forward to their wedding day, and every piece of their story came together beautifully.
Their ceremony at Hinckston Run Farm was filled with so much emotion. Before walking down the aisle, Madison recorded a message for Derek that played just moments before he saw her. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room (and yes, even I was tearing up behind the camera).
The rest of the day felt like something out of a dream. The sky couldn’t decide what to do, giving them a mix of rain, a rainbow, and one of the most incredible sunsets I’ve ever seen during a wedding. Every time the light shifted, it was like Mother Nature was putting on a show just for them, which couldn’t have been more fitting for two people who love the outdoors as much as they do.
Their reception was full of intentional, personal touches — each table was named after a national park they’ve explored together, surrounded by earthy tones, florals, and the kind of laughter that fills a room. And as if the day hadn’t already been magical enough, they ended the night under the glow of fireworks lighting up the sky — the perfect finale to a perfect day.
Madison + Derek’s wedding was one of those days that reminded me exactly why I love being a wedding photographer. It wasn’t just about capturing pretty photos (though, trust me, the sunset shots were unreal) — it was about documenting a story full of love, adventure, and the kind of connection that can weather any distance.
Cheers to the happy couple!
