Sunflowers, Sunsets, and Smiles: Colleen & Tom’s Engagement Photos
We had to play the waiting game with Colleen & Tom’s sunflower engagement session—first waiting on the blooms, then juggling summer vacations—but honestly? Totally worth it.
These two West Coasters met at Carnegie Mellon and have been together for six years, which honestly makes their love feel like the kind of steady, cozy, slightly magical thing you root for.
A little pre-session jitters were completely expected, which is totally normal. As soon as we got into that sunflower field, all of that melted away. Between Tom’s easygoing charm and Colleen’s glowing smile, they totally nailed it.
And then golden hour happened. Warm light, sunflowers glowing, the kind of sunset that makes you stop mid-sentence… Every photo felt like it was straight out of a dream.
Their engagement session wasn’t just about getting pretty photos (though, spoiler: they’re gorgeous). It was about laughter, little in-between moments, playful twirls, and those quiet looks that say more than words ever could. That’s what makes engagement photos feel real.
If you’re planning your own engagement session, take a page from Colleen & Tom: pick a spot that feels like you, soak up all the moments, and let your love shine. Sunflowers optional… but highly recommended.
